The Bridge 024: Forsaken…
The past few weeks have been trying and tiring. As an American, I want to believe in our system of government and our society. As a black man, I can’t sit here and tell you that I’m not jaded by both. Still, there’s no room for fatigue or failure when our lives and the lives of our children are at stake. There’s no laying down in the fight for equality and to reverse the line of thinking that allows hate and discrimination to rule for as long as they have. So, even as we get weary, we have to get right back up to fight, if not for ourselves for the sake of our future. Because even if we don’t win, they’ll at least know that we didn’t forsake them and they’ll know what it looks like to live with a purpose.
